SHADOWS IN MY EYES

As I travel across vast lands and venture
off into the cloak of darkness,
I am reminded of a sheer determination once
embraced by our past Gods and Goddesses.

The blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestral past
are culturally amassed in the heartbeat of our youth.
But they're indifferently nurtured and entertainingly tortured
to forget the legacies which once gave us birth.

I remember the ages when we sat and built with sages
and how we valiantly battled into historical lore.
How we built civilizations which mock present day ideations
that has baffled scientists, scholars, and much much more.

Our ancient dreams —once protected by the elite—
were passed along arduous journeys of old.
That's why the legacies of generational dynasties
are forever etched into the linings of our souls.

I remember forgotten warriors on hallowed grounds
who gallantly yielded their lives for the lives of their tribes.
Their venerable memories were nourished and they continue to
flourish
thru visions rendered down thru babies eyes
...listen as our babies cry.

I remember doorways built by the hands of royalty whose
secret passageways beckoned us into this present.
Their ingenious blessings illuminated life's lessons and
now lie undetected on auctioning blocks for peasants.

I remember era's when we treaded upon the impossible
and mathematically gave birth to many heavens on earth.
But when I revisit historical voyages now spent
I realize our grandest "creation" was love.

Close your eyes and visualize our pyramids
and envision the unity we mustered just to build them.
Now bear witness to the pollution now desecrating our nation
and left stains on the face of our inner sun.

Feel the passions of the rites of passage
that once bred kings and queens like sleep breeds dreams.
Stay abreast of the past,
search and innerstand that the answer to
the question lies dormant within thee.

Gaze into my timeless eyes
and drink openly from the oasis of my dexterities.
For it is our noble essence preserved from the wiseness of elders
that you see reflected, now unconsciously, in our families.

Never forget our spiritual descent
nor the doorways left by those who birthed us.
Transcend the face of the clock,
place the key in the lock,

and discover the blessings sowed by
those who are now dust.

Know that our collective struggles have been here before,
chronicled in vintage stories, parables, and prophetic visions
secretly told.
We conquered then and we are destined to rule again
so honor and defend nature as she unfolds.

I beg of you this...
never forget the kiss of those who now lay beneath you.
For even as they lie deceased
they made sure and planted their seeds
and guaranteed US a date with eternity
...Now that's a lifetime warranty.
